Hello September

Fall is on the way. I love the change of seasons, but I think this is my favorite. There's an excuse to pull out the warm blankets, which we did last night (for us and for the garden, 31 degrees is a pretty good reason.) Wear my new orange sweater, well wear it more, cause I love it so much I've worn it often and intend to get a few more. Mommy uniform, here I come. Then, if you need one, there's an excuse to go to Starbucks-Pumpkin Spice Latte. It doesn't get much better.

Yep, summer, she's a coming to an end. So for one last hurrah we joined Zac's brother and his family to hike around Tumalo Falls. It was the perfect weather day for it, not too hot (obviously) not too cold once we got going. The kids loved it. Cayden told me as I put in her in bed that she was "tired of all the hiking." Tired kids make for an easy bedtime.
It couldn't get any better than this.
Well, I was wrong. One silly girl hiking in her best princess dress does make the day a bit more memorable. We thought we'd give everyone else there something to talk about over dinner.
There you have it, one last adventure before school days begin. It sure makes makes for a good tradition.

How do you celebrate the end of summer?
