If I had a Nickle...

If I had a nickel for every lego that I found in my fridge...

Or for every jelly bean I've found in my bed...

Or for every time I had to say, "Please stop, you're being bossy right now."

Or for whenever I've said, "You get over here this minute young man!"

Or maybe if I had a nickle for every hot wheel I've tripped on...

Or a nickle for every Barbie accessory that I've stepped on (ouch!)...

You know, if I had a nickle for snack I've ever given out...

Well, I would have a whole bunch of nickles. I'm pretty sure I'd practically be a millionaire, or at least a nickleaire.

I bet I'd at least have enough nickles to get these, which my knees are begging for.

Or I could get these, which are really cute.
But I don't have a bunch of nickles.

I have something much better than new shoes and a pile of money.

I have three sets of hands to hold and cuddle.

There's three kids whose laughter sounds like music to my ears.

I have three willing partners whenever I'm looking for an adventure; a trip to the park or the store, and these days to the local nursery to see what's growing.

Yes, I've got hand prints on the walls. And there's an unidentified splatter of something on my kitchen floor. And I can't forget the crayon I found in the dryer the other day.

No, I don't have many nickles. But, I've got the best stuff in life right here, all around me-usually within a two foot radius of where I am. And that sure makes life beautiful.

And you know what else is beautiful? Saving money on sprucing up my front porch. More on that later!

  1. Beautiful post! I really enjoyed this :o)

Your jade plant is beautiful, and I think you're inspired me- I have one that at least 10 years old, and is pretty sad. It roots so easily- I'm going to find a pretty pot next thrifting trip and see if I can't do something pretty. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hallejulia! I couldn't have said it better, myself. Sometimes I "forget" how wonderful they are, and sometimes I just want to hit "pause" on the remote control for life. We are so lucky.
