Works For Me Wednesday: Frabric Softener Alternative

I love to save money.

Really, who doesn't? I know I'm not alone in this.

I also know (well, at least hope) that I'm not alone in my forgetfulness. A lot of the time I just plain forget to pick things up when I'm out shopping. It's not because those things aren't the list or anything like that. It's usually because I'm at some big giant mart with three kids at the end of the day and by the time I realize I forgot what I came for we're at the other end of the store. Which is why we often run out of fabric softener.

We like soft clothes so this forgetfulness is unacceptable. What's a girl to do?

Grab the nearest bottle of conditioner and a wet wash cloth. Really, just a small blob of conditioner (like, maybe quarter sized) on a wet washcloth into the dryer with the clothes. Works like a charm.

Right now I'm using this conditioner, passed on from Zac's mom who got it from someone else. I think. All I know is that it's been sitting around for over a year waiting for this clever use.

And hello! This forgetfulness is actually a blessing in disguise because this is so, so, so much cheaper. Has anyone noticed how pricey fabric softener can be? So now I forget on purpose, and that totally works for me.

  2. Oh my goodness Gina, my mom has done this for years! haha... a refurbisher/recycler/Martha Stewart-esque before her time. lol

She (and I) don't use fabric softener very often at all, so it really is an economical no-brainer!
