Beating the Winter Blues

Go to the library and get a mountain of books, plus a few classic movies.

Don’t forget to stand in the morning sun and be silly, very silly.

And eat cake, the sprinkles are optional but they sure make it feel special.

And lastly, be grateful for a break in the weather and a little bit of sun. It was fleeting, and this morning we are watching the snow fall.
That’s okay, because even on dark and grey winter days I’ve found that keeping the routine really helps. It’s also not a bad idea to throw in a little bit of the special too. Cake just because, tea at lunch and a few conversation hearts mixed in make for a lovely winter day. I'm realizing my attitude has everything to do with how our day goes, a good attitude means a good day. Bad attitude, bad day. If I focus on finding the treasures and joy in my day I'm sure to see them.
What do you do to beat the winter blues?
I’m linking up with Melissa today.

  1. I honestly don't mind winter or having to stay indoors. I love to read, do cross stitch, write letters, putter around the house. There's always something for me to do.

  3. SO true - attitude makes such a difference!

I've previously posted one of my all time favorite quotes on attitude:

  5. I drink LOTS of hot spice tea and hot chocolate. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. We're going on day number six of rain, have very squirrely (is that a word?) kids in my house. Lots of painting, playdoh, special movies, special snacks and coloring have been going on. Oh....cookies help too!

  7. I re-decorate. Something always needs to be done around here, and with all this indoor time, I try to accomplish something!
