well-hello there

I have many, many words swirling around today. But first there's this----it's a new design here. I decided an update was necessary and so I've been tweaking. You might have some questions about this, or you might not. Either way, here goes:

Why the change?

I'm hoping to branch out and be a bit more professional in my writing, which means I want a professional looking space. It's like putting on your big girl pants in order to start the first day of school off right.

This doesn't mean anything will be different around here, same me and same stuff. I'm not sorry to say that what you see is what you get with me. I hope you find that refreshing. I'll still babble on about odd ball things but my prayer is that in between the babbling you'll be encouraged. I want to share how God is speaking to me and challenging me, and then encourage you to be challenged yourself.

Life on purpose is what happens when I rise up to meet the challenges that God places in front of me. And life on purpose is something we all can do.

And this brings me to a few questions I have for you, dear readers:

What kind of things do you like to read here?

What would you like to see more of?

Less of?

I know a few of you lurkers want more about roasting coffee (you know who you are!) and that'll be coming soon. But there's also much more I want to say. There always is.

And then there's this: I am working on a book. I'm not ready to shout it from the rooftops, but God is placing a story in me that I know he wants to use for you. And I trust, with his help, it will be good and timely.

I started this blog back in 2007 to keep my parents updated on life here. It's grown into so much more. Thank you for reading, all of you-the ones I know and the ones I don't know. You are all a gift. I pray that you go away from this space encouraged. I want this to be a place where that happens, and where we can encouraged each other.

So thank you in advance for your answers to these questions here (yes, it's time to delurk and chat here!)

Remaining in Him,

  1. Gina! I used to follow you on bloglines, then when I transferred to google reader, and subsequently to bloglovin, somewhere along the way, I lost you! Anyway, I don't know if I've ever commented before, but I just spent a half-hour searching for you, and now I've found you. I'm in the middle of deciding with my husband whether or not to continue homeschooling. I remembered you writing about quitting homeschooling, and I wanted to converse with someone who has quit, and where you're at now (are your kids still going out to school?), and did you regret quitting and, and, and....Hope I'm not coming off too crazy, but you've been on my mind all day, and I told hubby tonight I was going to find you because your post about quitting really stood out to me.

    1. So glad you found me!

I can for sure do an update on school stuff- it something we haven't regretted one bit, it was a hard decision but it's been good for our family.

Thanks for taking a moment to comment, and look for an update soon.

  2. your look does look fresh. i think regularly of tweaking and updating my blog, but it's low on the list of priorities so i have no idea when it will get done.

happy book writing! praying God's Spirit continues to guide you with the words He wants you to tell.

i've considered writing a book. considered it a lot. my God-giver series is a subject that is very dear to me. someday... when i'm done fighting off the doubters that reside in my head. luckily, i am seeing less and less of them. maybe someday will come sooner than later. :)

    1. I think it's time to kick those doubts to the curb!

      And thank you :)

I love to hear from you! Thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts with me.
